Too Many Young People Are Being Left Behind
"In the Piedmont Triad, a living wage is almost $43/hour for a 4-person household according to MIT Living Wage Calculator. The minimum wage is still $7.25. That gap is a pathway problem -- and pathways can be built.
Across the Piedmont Triad, employers are creating thousands of high-quality careers in advanced manufacturing, healthcare, aviation, technology, and skilled trades.
Yet many young people still lack access to the training, mentoring, workforce experiences, and professional guidance needed to take advantage of these opportunities.
