ThriveShift Foundation began with one conversation during an after-school program—an ordinary afternoon that would ultimately shape our mission.
While volunteering with elementary and middle school students, our founder asked a simple question:
"What do you want to be when you grow up?"
The younger children answered with excitement.
"A doctor."
"A lawyer."
"A professional athlete."
Then an older student was asked a different question:
"Where do you want to live when you're older?"
Her answer was simple.
"Down the street from my mom and grandmother."
When asked if she had ever imagined living anywhere else, she quietly answered,
"No."
Not because she lacked ambition—but because she had never been exposed to anything different.
That moment revealed something deeper than one student's answer.
Potential isn't enough if opportunity is never seen.
It became the beginning of a much bigger question:
How many young people never dream beyond what they've been exposed to?
That question became ThriveShift.
